i got 1.8 hertz with my hearing aids in (worse for music) and 1.05 with them out. |

. I can't even believe that ski team is almost over. I remember back when i was a freshman, it seemed so far off. It seemed like i would always be doing it. And tommorow is the last practice.
Ski team has so many good memories. Its one of those things where u can tell an endless amount of "remember when...." stories about. I'll always remember waiting impatiently for the first practices to start during the fall, hoping to wake up each morning and see snow on the ground so we could practice at blue hills. I'll always remember all of the good times i had with the Jrs/Seniors my first two years. I'll remember how on the last practice day of my freshman year how ben brigham made a speech on the bus about how he was proud of me for steping it up as a freshman, and how much that ment to me. As a somphmore ill remember how we sang glory days on the bus ride home from the last race, and speeches were made, and Mr. Beatie got a song dedicated to us on the radio. I'll remember how we waited till blue hills was empty on that last race and then we slid down the side hill, just a few of the seniors and me.
My junior year was still cool even though last years seniors weren't there. Terry Jones!!! was on the team, as well as many other memorable characters. Overall there was a lot of new blood on the team, including my brother. While i wont look at Jr. year quite as nostalgicly as the first two, it was still fun. It was hilarious watching jidge, who had barly ever skied, beat immerman in the later races.
This year has been another good year, despite the lack of races. the team is as small as its ever been, and there sometimes isnt even enough kids to fill our ranks for races. Even so, its cool being one of the "grizzled vetrans" on the team. Alot of the new blood on the team this year are really great people, and it really built up some of the camradery i think the team lacked the year before. I'll always remember how my brother actually got Jarnold to eat the rest of the powdered doughnuts. And i think everbody will remember Raul the bus driver.
Also this year i have finally achieved some of my dreams as a freshman. One of them is that i am finally a captain. Each race i also got to wear the great 260 bib which as a freshman i wished that i would one day put over my shoulders. To me the 260 bib was like the yellow jersey. I acheived one finish in the top 15 which was totally awsome. And as the season draws to a close i might be able to achieve a dream i never truely thought possible. If i have the race of my life, i could make the states! Im currently positioned in 11th place, and i need to finish probably if not in the top ten, close to it. Its a hail mary pass, but i got to go for it all.
It seems strange that after wendsdays race, all these things will be over. Its sad in a way, leaving all this, like the last day of camp. At the same time its great, ive achieved the goals that freshman year i was dreaming about doing. but it seems like so much that im going to leave behind. Even so, ill move on, and when i look back at highschool years from now, this will be my favorite part. |

well the last week has been crazy. Halloween was sweet, me, my bro, and other peoples drove to minot and the sword that justin was carrying was too large to fit in the car so we stuck it out the window. Man halloween kicked major ass. Idk why but it was a really great night. Perhaps because it was my first social gathering in like a few months :-p
Also, i sold my first large print. It was a 12x18 that sold for $65. I was soo psyced. Its a really cool feeling to know that your artwork is going to be on display somewhere other than the school or your home.
And last but not least, the SAT scores. I got 710 math, 660 english, and 700 writing. Overall i was happy with my scores because even though the english and math were basicly the same, i came up a lot in writing which i really needed to and ill carry over my 670 english from last time.
Well thats all that has happened recently in my life. I've never been busier but it somehows feels strangly satisfying. |
